Drivers on Parcelo's carriers were paid weekly, and the carriers were losing them to platforms that paid the same day. The ask from the sales team was a feature; the real problem was a payments rail, a compliance review and a risk model, none of which existed.

I ran the vendor selection, wrote the risk model with finance (a payout limit that grows with completed deliveries), and shipped the driver-facing part as one button in the app. The first cut was manual: our operations team approved every payout by hand for three weeks while the model proved itself.

Six months in, 92% of active drivers had opted in, carrier churn to same-day competitors stopped, and the payout limit model had a loss rate under a tenth of a percent. Instant Payouts is now the platform other Parcelo products bill through.
