Parcelo's dispatchers were opening five tools before eight in the morning: a spreadsheet of routes, the driver roster in a chat app, a map, the exceptions inbox and the customer portal. I sat in three carrier offices for two weeks and timed the morning. The median dispatcher spent 74 minutes assigning a day that took 22 minutes to actually decide.

The Dispatch Board put the routes, the roster and the exceptions on one screen with drag-to-assign and a live capacity bar per driver. We shipped a beta to ten carriers behind a flag in five weeks, watched it for a month, and rolled it to the rest in two cuts.

Twelve weeks after launch the median morning was 46 minutes, a 38% reduction against the same weeks a year earlier, and "where is the driver" support tickets from dispatchers fell by half. The decision log for this one has three wrong calls in it: we built route splitting first and nobody used it.
